The Person in the Shadow

Seryna is someone who has spent much of her life standing where responsibility meets expectation.

In the visible world, she works as a pharmacist, a profession that demands precision, patience, and care. Her days are filled with prescriptions, conversations across a pharmacy counter, and the quiet work of helping people feel a little safer about their health.

But the person behind the counter is only one part of who she is.

Outside the rhythm of work, Seryna moves through the world with curiosity. She is drawn to places and cultures, to the architecture of unfamiliar cities, to sunrise skies and fading sunsets. Photography is one way she keeps those moments. A beautiful image, to her, is not just visual. It carries the emotion of a place and a moment that will never exist in quite the same way again.

Music accompanies most of her days. The playlists change constantly, moving between Korean drama soundtracks, C-pop ballads, orchestral music, Thai pop, indie tracks, and sometimes even the calm rhythm of Buddhist chanting. Songs often express what words cannot, and she listens the way some people read diaries.

In quieter hours she returns to things she has loved for years. Korean dramas remain a familiar comfort, especially the classics she never seems to tire of revisiting. Among her favourite films is The Proposal, a story she never seems to grow tired of watching. The character Margaret Tate, strong-willed, guarded, and quietly vulnerable beneath her confidence, is someone she finds unexpectedly relatable.

Work itself is something she genuinely enjoys. Being productive gives her a sense of purpose. To contribute something meaningful, even in small ways, makes a day worthwhile.

As a child, Seryna imagined a different future. She once dreamed of becoming an oncology surgeon, someone standing in operating rooms saving lives and changing the course of history for patients and families. Life unfolded differently.

She entered pharmacy school instead, a path shaped partly by circumstance and choices that seemed small at the time but carried lasting consequences.

That shift was not always easy to accept. Some dreams leave quiet marks on a person. Yet over time she came to understand something important: helping people does not only happen in dramatic moments. Healing can happen quietly, in small daily interactions, in reassurance offered at the right time, or in knowledge shared when someone needs it most.

Her curiosity about the world never faded.

There are still countless places she hopes to see, cultures she wishes to understand, and sunrises she wants to witness somewhere beyond the horizon. Learning, observing, and discovering new things remain part of how she experiences life.

This blog grew from that curiosity.

It is not simply a space for travel stories, technology notes, or reflections on daily life. It is a place where she leaves traces of the life she is living, the lessons she gathers along the way, and the thoughts that quietly shape who she is becoming.

Seryna believes knowledge should not be hoarded. If something she learns can help someone else, even in a small way, she would rather pass it on.

At the centre of how she moves through life is a motto she has carried for years:

能不能都要能,会不会都要会,要不要都得要。

Whether she can or cannot, she believes she must learn to be capable.
Whether she knows or does not know, she believes she must learn.
Whether life asks for it or not, she believes she must be ready to face it.

It is a philosophy of persistence and preparation, a reminder that life will continue to ask things of us whether we feel ready or not.

Right now she moves forward with hope. Hope that her path will widen, that her knowledge will deepen, and that the purpose she believes she was placed on this earth for, to help and to heal in whatever way she can, will continue to reveal itself.

If you have found your way here, perhaps you were meant to. You are welcome to stay a while if the words speak to you, to walk through the stories, the places, and the lessons that continue to shape the life she is building.

And if something here reminds you of your own path, even just a little, then this space has already served its purpose.

After all, every life is a journey of becoming.
This is simply where I write mine.
